DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
HEARTFIRE is seeking an exceptional Development leader with a passion for global evangelical Christian missions and a heart for Gen-Z. This individual will have experience and a zeal for advancement and fundraising, and will be tasked with designing, building and launching HEARTFIRE’s new Development division.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all activities relating to philanthropy and giving.
Strategically implement a multi-year, coordinated marketing and development effort - including major gifts, donor cultivation, grant proposals, & fundraising events.
Anticipate future trends and stay at the forefront of new ideas. Envision possibilities others may not.
Encourage and promote creativity & innovation.
Nurture and retain existing monthly and annual donors. Cultivate new, long-term donor relationships.
Identify grant opportunities, create letters of intent, write applications.
Instill trust and credibility by consistently delivering on commitments - internally and externally.
Track and analyze fundraising and donor-related metrics, including progress toward fundraising goals, donor retention, success, and ROI of various initiatives
Develop corporate sponsorship and planned giving programs.
Lead and execute fundraising events.
Develop donor communication strategy and materials.
Represent HEARTFIRE at community and professional events.
Leverage and attend events for the purposes of donor identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
Demonstrate competency in the use of donor databases and online fundraising platforms.
Have an interest in learning how to plan and participate in several HEARTFIRE international medical and humanitarian mission trips each year.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Philanthropy, Nonprofit Management, or a closely related field.
Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) a plus.
Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible Development, Advancement or Fundraising experience.
Experience with the following: individual giving, institutional giving, major gifts, annual fund/membership, planned and capital giving, prospect research, stewardship, special events, and development operations.
Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, program development, and fundraising event management.
Grant-writing skills a plus.
Ability to understand the needs and interests of donors in order to develop and strengthen relationships.
Self-Management: Takes initiative and acts with available information without waiting for direction. Accepts responsibility for gathering information, taking action, and results.
Proficiency with CRM donor database software.
Experience working as part of a collaborative team - including staff and board members.
Outstanding communication skills - both oral and written.
Knowledge of ethical fundraising principles and practices.
An intimate and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
A love of global and domestic Christian missions.
Commitment to the vision, mission, and values statement of HEARTFIRE.
Work Location (Hybrid): In-person (4 days/wk) + Remote (1 day/wk), with potential to become progressively more Remote after 6 months.
Available Benefits
Salary range: $48,000 to $89,000 (commensurate with experience)
Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits.
Full-time employees receive ten (10) paid holidays, fifteen (15) paid days of vacation, and three (3) paid days of sick leave.
Part-time employees receive ten (10) unpaid holidays, as well as a prorated amount of time off depending on the number of hours worked (10 paid days for a 28 hr/wk employee).
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed
